About Brook Westheimer
With six years of public service in libraries, seven years of private service building web and print resources for small businesses, and time sailing the high seas and deckhanding riverboats on the Mighty Ohio, Brook Westheimer has a wide variety of skills. She can cook up some SQL or a meal in a galley, sensibly organize information and tie knots, deal with beam-to-beams and the occasional unstable patron, and has seen just about everything. She can be found helping the old and young access information and use computers, meeting with web design clients at a coffee shop, or riding a trusty steel framed bike around Cincinnati.
With that said, she takes a great interest in virtual goings-on, especially when it comes to open source (free like “free speech,” not “free beer”), content management systems (good for small business owners), user experience, and library technology (good for everyone).
After four years of reference and engaging customers with technology at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, she jumped ship to build websites and enable connections through social media. You can learn more about her company, Watercourse Technology, at watercoursetech.com.
